Sequential games with C
What does C change?
Before you begin
Both players know the value of C.
The players know C, but you must determine which values produce the stated outcome. Treat C as a whole number: 0, 1, 2, 3, and so on.
Method
Backward induction = rollback
Start at the final decisions and work back to Player 1’s first move.
Use the tree as a scratch pad: click an action or terminal payoff to highlight it while you work. Click a different choice to change your mark, or use “Clear tree” before checking another value of C. At each endpoint, the first payoff is Player 1’s and the second payoff is Player 2’s. Scroll sideways if needed, or use “Center tree” to return to the initial decision.
Your question
